East Optical is proud to announce the publication of new two-year clinical data validating the sustained effectiveness of the MyoPro® Defocus Lens in managing childhood myopia. The results, now published in Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science (IOVS) and indexed on PubMed, demonstrate that MyoPro® continues to deliver significant and consistent myopia management efficacy over 24 months of wear.

Building on the success of the initial one-year results, the two-year follow-up confirms that MyoPro® lenses effectively slow axial elongation when compared with single-vision lenses. The study highlights the lens’s ability to maintain stable visual performance and comfort, reinforcing its role as a safe, non-invasive, and reliable option for long-term myopia management.

“This new two-year data provides powerful clinical evidence that MyoPro® continues to deliver measurable, lasting benefits for children with myopia,” said Olive Su, General Manager of East Optical. “It further strengthens our commitment to supporting independent eye care professionals with scientifically proven technology that’s shaping the future of vision care.”

The peer-reviewed study was conducted under rigorous clinical conditions and confirmed that MyoPro® lenses maintained their effectiveness across multiple age groups and degrees of myopia, with no adverse adaptation effects or visual compromises observed over time. The results demonstrate a consistent myopia management effect, reinforcing MyoPro’s position as one of the most advanced optical interventions available today.

About MyoPro®

MyoPro® is an advanced spectacle lens design featuring 540 seamlessly integrated hexagonal lenslets embedded into the front surface of the lens, combined with a smaller central zone. This innovative technology generates a stronger defocus signal in front of the retina, helping to control axial elongation and slow myopia progression.

A double-blind, randomized clinical trial conducted at Wenzhou Medical University in China demonstrated that MyoPro® lenses slow myopia progression by 67%, and by up to 81.2% in the 10–12 age group, with a 50% reduction in axial elongation compared to single-vision lenses, offering an effective solution for myopia management in children.
