Japan Collection — From Prototype to Eyewear

For the 2025–2026 academic year, ISO invited Bonne Franquette to sponsor its Bachelor’s program in Eyewear Design in Paris and Bordeaux.

As part of this collaboration, the students worked around a shared theme: Japan. Over several months, they explored its aesthetic codes, materials, symbols, and contrasts to create distinctive eyewear designs.
Sketches, shape development, color combinations, and prototypes all played a key role throughout this creative journey.

From all the projects presented, three designs were selected to become part of the Bonne Franquette collection. Working from the students’ original prototypes, our team carried out an extensive redesign and
refinement process: adjusting proportions, balancing lines, making technical choices, and optimizing comfort, durability, and manufacturing feasibility.

The objective was clear: to preserve the students’ creative vision while transforming their concepts into eyewear ready to be manufactured, distributed, and worn.

A collection born from the meeting of mentorship, creativity, and craftsmanship.
