Danish eyewear brand Ørgreen is introducing seven new sunglasses frames as part of its Sheet Titanium SUN collection, showcasing the company’s expertise in working with ultra-thin titanium materials. The new collection represents the brand’s distinctive approach to sunwear design for 2027, emphasizing lightness, sculptural forms and innovative details.
The manufacturing process begins with a flat sheet of premium Japanese titanium. Rather than bending the material into shape using traditional methods, Ørgreen carves it. The edges are chamfered into fine, faceted lines, while depth is milled directly into the surface. This technique produces frames with a distinctly three-dimensional and architectural presence that feel almost weightless when worn. The exceptional lightness is balanced by structure, substance and precision, with the true comfort of the design only becoming apparent when the frames are tried on.
“Taking our sheet titanium to the sun meant pushing the material as far as it could go, past every boundary of our craft. It was a way to test ourselves, to prove again that precision and quality aren’t just words for us; they’re the whole point. We took a flat, humble material and gave it a truly premium expression. For me, this collection is a reminder of exactly what Ørgreen does best,” said Gregers Fastrup, Sales Director at Ørgreen Optics.
The seven new frames each feature a clear character and contemporary shape. Avenor represents the purest expression of the craft, featuring extreme chamfering, one of the most refined bridge details Ørgreen has ever produced, and the brand’s thinnest titanium temples yet. This frame is designed for customers who appreciate fine detail.
Varyon offers a stronger, more masculine aesthetic. Cut from a substantial 2.5mm sheet with a chamfer angled inward toward the lens, it provides real structural depth and is a natural fit for active, sports-minded wearers.
Norven is titanium designed to resemble acetate. This bold, unisex shape includes a faux bridge bump milled out of the flat sheet rather than bent forward. It delivers a big presence while remaining flat and comfortable against the face.
Devrin brings attitude with sharp geometry, a sculpted topline and integrated sidepieces that create a subtle cheek-lifting effect. These sunglasses are intended for confident customers who want to make a statement.
Auralis evokes relaxed, early-Eighties glamour through an oversized, generous shape with plenty of lens area, but without the heavy feel typically associated with oversized frames.
Tavric offers a broad, comfortable fit for wider faces, with familiar lines that make it highly wearable.
Kelven is the design team’s favourite and the most versatile shape in the collection. Its character changes completely depending on the colour choice: sharp and contemporary in bright combinations, quiet and timeless in darker tones. This single frame design can suit very different audiences.
As with every Ørgreen collection, the Sheet Titanium SUN collection is designed in Copenhagen and handmade in Japan across more than a hundred processes, demonstrating true craftsmanship and production finesse. This extensive manufacturing process is what allows these frames to hold their shape, their finish, and their extraordinarily comfortable fit.
