An Important Notice to Members And Industry Partners from the Board of Directors of the Ontario Opticians Association
Dear Members and Industry Partners,
The Board of Directors of the Ontario Opticians Association wants to speak plainly about the current state of our organization.
After a detailed review of our finances, governance, and operational capacity, we feel it is important to be transparent with our members and Industry Partners about the significant challenges the Association is facing.
As a result, we are suspending regular programs and member services while we work through the next steps. At this time, we cannot assure members that normal Association operations will resume.
Our priority is to manage this situation responsibly, fulfill our existing obligations, and keep our members informed as decisions are made. We recognize how much the Ontario Opticians Association has meant to its members and to the profession over the years, and this is not a message we had hoped to share.
Professional Liability Insurance (PLI)
We want to reassure members that professional liability insurance coverage remains fully in effect. Members do not need to take any action regarding their PLI coverage at this time. Your current PLI coverage is not affected by the changes to the Association’s operations outlined in this notice.
We are also exploring opportunities for other organizations to help support the continuing education needs of Ontario opticians going forward. We will share further information with members as it becomes available.
For any urgent matters or questions requiring our attention, please contact us at ontario.opticians@gmail.com.
Thank you for your years of support, your patience during this transition, and most importantly, your continued commitment to the profession.
