Nuance Audio™ Glasses Are Available Now in Canada, and Eye Care Professionals Can Be First In

Backed by EssilorLuxottica’s 60+ years of eyewear excellence, the award-winning assistive listening glasses have launched in  Canada, offering optical retailers and ECPs a new category opportunity in accessible listening care

TORONTO, July 7, 2026 – EssilorLuxottica announces that Nuance Audio Glasses are available in Canada, opening a first-of-its-kind opportunity in the assistive listening category for optical retailers across the country.

Nuance Audio Glasses are assistive listening glasses designed for adults experiencing mild-to-moderate listening difficulty. They integrate advanced open-ear listening technology into stylish, lightweight eyewear, delivering discreet, all-day support without compromising comfort or design. For Eye Care Professionals, this is a natural extension of the care you already provide, with no audiologist’s prescription or fitting appointment required.

The versatile Audio Mode feature lets you choose where to focus your hearing, whether it’s all around you or directly in front of you. Frontal Mode enhances sounds in front of you, making it easier to focus on conversations with someone in loud environments. All Around Mode amplifies sounds and speech from all directions, ideal for situations where you need to be aware of your surroundings.

Configurable through an intuitive companion app, Nuance Audio Glasses allow wearers to personalize their listening experience with directional sound enhancement tailored to different environments. Using the app’s Audio Mode settings, users can choose between Frontal Mode, which enhances speech directly in front of them to support one-on-one conversations in noisy settings, or All Around Mode, which amplifies speech and ambient sounds from every direction for greater environmental awareness. An in-app calibration process further personalizes the listening experience to each wearer’s individual hearing preferences.

For those who prefer a simpler setup, an optional Remote Control is also available for easy, app-free adjustments. Each pair comes with a case with a built-in charging pad, and a full charge delivers up to 8 hours of continuous use.

Available styles, colours, and configurations:

  • Styles: Two distinct frame silhouettes, each designed to be worn all day and mistaken for everyday eyewear: Panthos (a classic rounded shape, 48 mm) and Square (54 mm and 56 mm)

  • Colours: Three sophisticated options crafted to complement personal style: Shiny Black, Shiny Burgundy, and Deep Blue

  • Sizes: Panthos (round): 48 mm, Square: 54 mm, and 56 mm

Nuance Audio Glasses have been tested in partnership with Western University (Canada) under controlled yet realistic noise conditions that reflect everyday listening environments. The study conducted in part at Western University showed up to a 29% improvement in speech understanding in difficult acoustic settings, strengthening the product’s ability to enable clearer conversations where it matters most. Whether in a busy restaurant, a lively family gathering, or a workplace meeting.

“Nuance Audio Glasses are now available in 14 countries and more than 17,000 stores worldwide. The response to the product has made it clear that people are ready for a new approach to hearing care,” said Stefano Genco, Global Head of Nuance Audio, EssilorLuxottica. “Expanding into Canada allows us to meet that demand with a solution that is as discreet and design-forward as it is effective, and we want Canadian eye care professionals to be the first to bring it to their communities.”

The Canadian launch follows a breakout year for Nuance Audio. The brand was named to TIME’s 100 Best Inventions and received the Silmo d’Or award for Smart Eyewear. Award-winning actress Jane Lynch (Glee, Only Murders in the Building, The Weakest Link) recently wore Nuance Audio™ Glasses at the EssilorLuxottica Switch Innovation Summit, sharing how they help her stay fully engaged in conversations and everyday life.

Nuance Audio Glasses are now available in Canada through select optical and audiologist retailers along with authorized providers. Consumers can choose from multiple frame styles and colours and customize their lenses to suit their vision needs.
