TORRANCE, CALIF., May, 2022 – NuPolar, the world’s most popular polarized RX lens, is now available in a 1.74 high index material, allowing eye care providers across the globe to offer NuPolar quality to high-prescription patients in an ultra-thin sunwear lens.
“The eyecare industry is always happy when Younger expands its NuPolar line of polarized lenses,” says David Rips, President and CEO of Younger Optics. “Labs especially prefer NuPolar lenses because while other polarized lenses vary in quality and performance, NuPolar consistently outperforms other products during processing.”
What are the processing qualities of these lenses?
NuPolar 1.74 lenses are manufactured MR-174™ resin, a high performance material with good processing and stability characteristics. NuPolar 1.74 is offered in four base curves with precise film placement to allow for minimum thickness over a very wide Rx range (-13.00 D to +9.00 D).
NuPolar 1.74 lenses come with all the features that make NuPolar unique: excellent heat stability, superb adhesion characteristics, consistent true curve control, high polarization efficiency, unrivaled color uniformity, and of course they are backed by the NuPolar warranty.
NuPolar 1.74 SFSV lenses can be processed digitally or with traditional processing equipment.
What are the polarization characteristics of these lenses?
NuPolar polarized lenses contain a polarized film that selectively blocks polarized light, which means that blinding glare is almost completely absorbed while information-carrying light can pass.
Why is this lens product important for eye care practices?
Eye care practices can now offer their patients with high plus and high minus prescriptions polarized sunwear with thinner lenses, which reduces the weight of the eyewear and generally looks more attractive in the frame.
What is the current availability?
NuPolar 1.74 SFSV lenses are available in gray now, and in brown in a few months. For a list of all NuPolar lenses from Younger Optics, see the back cover of the Art & Science of NuPolar. Remember to always specify NuPolar when ordering polarized lenses from your laboratory.
