Swiss reading glasses brand read on is proud to announce that their new design concept, read on light customized is a German Design Award Winner 2026 for Excellent Product Design in the category Lifestyle & Fashion.
The new read on light customized, launched at SILMO Paris this year, is the first ever ready-made reading glasses product that can be customised conveniently in less than two minutes. The company has created a unique and practical lens box for the optician’s counter, which includes 28 interchangeable pre-cut lenses spanning seven diopter strengths (+1.0 to +2.5). This allows opticians to customise the read on light glasses, swapping in different lenses as needed with speed and efficiency.
The German Design Awards are the international premium prize of the German Design Council. With their global reach and international reputation, they are among the most respected awards in the design landscape. Since 2012, the Awards have identified key design trends, made them visible and honoured them. Each year, outstanding work in product design, communication design and architecture is recognised.
