Simple Eyewear Celebrates 10 Years of Essential French Design With Expanded Global Presence
French eyewear brand Simple Eyewear is marking a significant milestone this year, celebrating its 10th anniversary with a renewed commitment to its founding philosophy and a growing international footprint.
Founded on the belief that eyewear should be elegant, understated and accessible, Simple Eyewear has spent the past decade refining its approach to what it calls “essential French design.” The brand has built its reputation on clean lines, quality materials and a pared-back aesthetic that resists trend-driven excess in favour of timeless wearability.
To mark the occasion, Simple Eyewear is expanding its global presence, bringing its collections to new markets and strengthening existing partnerships with optical retailers around the world. The brand’s growth reflects increasing demand for understated, well-crafted eyewear that prioritizes longevity over novelty.

Aluma Medical has acquired another business, consolidating its position as a leading Canadian eyecare provider. The company announced it has purchased the assets of Hogg Optical Clinic, a well-established independent optometry practice located in Scarborough, Ontario.
This acquisition represents the latest move in Aluma Medical’s strategic expansion across the Greater Toronto Area. The Hogg Optical Clinic has been serving the Scarborough community for many years, building a loyal patient base through quality eyecare services and personalized attention.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. However, the acquisition is expected to strengthen Aluma Medical’s presence in the eastern GTA market and expand its network of optometry clinics.
The Hogg Optical Clinic will continue to operate under its current name and branding, maintaining the familiar presence that patients have come to know and trust. Existing staff members will remain with the practice, ensuring continuity of care and service for patients.
Dr. Michael Hogg, the founder and owner of Hogg Optical Clinic, expressed confidence in the transition. “After careful consideration, I believe this partnership with Aluma Medical is the best path forward for our patients and team,” he said. “Aluma Medical shares our commitment to quality patient care and will provide the resources needed to continue serving our community for years to come.”
Aluma Medical leadership emphasized their dedication to preserving the practice’s identity and community relationships. The company stated that maintaining the local character of acquired practices is a core principle of their growth strategy.
This acquisition adds to Aluma Medical’s growing portfolio of optometry clinics throughout Ontario. The company has been actively expanding its footprint through strategic acquisitions of established independent practices, focusing on maintaining local relationships while providing additional operational support and resources.
The eyecare industry in Canada has seen increased consolidation activity in recent years, with larger organizations acquiring independent practices. This trend has been driven by various factors including succession planning for retiring optometrists, increased operating costs, and the potential benefits of joining larger networks.
For Hogg Optical Clinic patients, the transition is designed to be seamless. Appointments, prescriptions, and patient records will continue to be managed in the same manner. The clinic will maintain its current location in Scarborough and continue offering comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fittings, and optical dispensing services.
Aluma Medical stated that the acquisition will allow the practice to benefit from enhanced purchasing power, improved technology infrastructure, and access to a broader network of eyecare professionals. These advantages are expected to translate into continued high-quality care and potentially expanded services for patients.
The company indicated that it remains committed to pursuing additional acquisition opportunities in Ontario and across Canada as part of its long-term growth objectives.

Linda Farrow has unveiled its SS27 collection, Room Service, ahead of Silmo 2026. Inspired by the great five-star hotels of London, the collection draws on the sumptuous atmosphere of 1970s hotel life, exploring “a world where luxury is found in every detail – where product, service and experience are considered with equal care.” The palette moves through scarlet interiors, warm taupes, deep browns and burnt orange tones, evoking polished wood, plush lounges and mirrored bars.
Rooted in the brand’s heritage of glamour and craftsmanship, each frame is handcrafted in Japan using fine materials and precise techniques. The collection considers how different generations experience luxury today, celebrating the dynamic between mother and daughter while recognizing that each values something distinct. “Room Service captures both worlds through a cinematic lens – celebrating women who move through life with sophistication, presence and their own distinct sense of style.”
The SS27 collection features a range of signature design details across its frames. Highlights include a reintroduced 1970s heritage logo applied in fine white ink, an industrialized titanium eyelet plate with hand-painted colour contrasts, sculpted Japanese titanium frames with precision bevelling, and a decorative encased core wire suspended beneath crystal acetate with Linda Farrow’s signature honeycomb detailing. Additional standouts include precious metal-plated lenses on the Marcelo and Sadie frames and photochromic lenses by Barberini on the Meret, featuring adaptive molecular technology that responds to changing light conditions.
Linda Farrow will present the SS27 Room Service collection at Silmo 2026 in Hall 7, Stand C037. For more information, visit lindafarrow.com.

ic! berlin has launched its first campaign featuring Audi Revolut F1® Team drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto, both pictured wearing customized ic! berlin frames. The campaign, rolling out globally this week, marks the brand’s first official activation since announcing their partnership with Audi Revolut F1® Team in February, making ic! berlin the first official eyewear partner of the team.
Titled “From 0.05 mm to 300 km/h: engineering performance and precision at speed,” the campaign draws a direct line between ic! berlin’s ultra-light, screwless frames and the Audi R26 race car, engineered for lighter dimensions, active aerodynamics and high-speed agility. “The partnership unites two brands where form and function are inseparable,” the company noted, adding that qualities like focus, precision and confidence align naturally with ic! berlin’s design philosophy.
Shot by photographer Rupert Tapper with creative direction by visual artist Leif Podhajsky, the imagery uses motion blur to capture the speed and intensity of Formula 1 racing. Beyond the campaign visuals, ic! berlin will offer brand ambassadors and select media trackside experiences at races in Monza, Italy; Marina Bay, Singapore; and Austin, Texas throughout the season.
About ic! berlin: ic! berlin is a pioneer in screwless, high-end stainless-steel eyewear. We design, engineer and manufacture ultra-light and flexible frames that defy convention.
